Are there artificial colors and/or flavors in your prenatal and postnatal multivitamins?

Answer: You will not find artificial flavors or added colors in our prenatal and postnatal multivitamins. Additionally, there are no preservatives, yeast or gluten.

Are there other key nutrients I should be considering while I am pregnant?

Answer: The omega-3 fatty acid DHA may help support fetal brain and eye development. You may consider adding an omega-3 supplement (from fish oil or algal oil) to your prenatal multivitamin supplement, or consider our Nature Made® Prenatal Multi + DHA softgel product.

Are your multivitamins gluten free?

Answer: Most Nature Made products are gluten free. Please refer to the label of the bottle or packaging that it is contained in. If you have any additional questions, please call us and we’ll be happy to assist you.

How long should I continue taking Nature Made® Postnatal + 200 mg DHA?

Answer: Consult your doctor about starting a postnatal supplement right after your pregnancy, whether you are nursing or not. However, it is very important to continue to meet your nutrient needs while nursing your baby. The Nature Made® Postnatal + 200 mg DHA supplement supports mom and helps her have the proper nutrition complement to pass through to her growing baby. You can continue to take Postnatal after you stop nursing your baby or switch to Nature Made® Multi For Her.

How many multivitamins can you take a day?

Answer: We would only recommend you take one serving per day unless the Suggested Use says otherwise. Please check the label of your multivitamin for specific instructions. However, as with all supplement regimens and especially during pregnancy, you should consult with your health care professional before starting any supplement routine.

How many packets can I consume each day?

Answer: Please only take one packet per day. Our consumers usually find it most convenient to take the entire content of each packet at one meal.

How old do you have to be to start taking your multivitamins?

Answer: Our multivitamins are made for people ages 18 and over.

If I am taking a multivitamin that contains folic acid, is it still safe to take a B complex that contains folic acid?

Answer: It should be fine to take both just as long as the total amount of folic acid consumed daily from all sources (dietary and supplemental) does not exceed 1,000 mcg. Taking a higher folic acid dose may mask a vitamin B12 deficiency.

Is rash or redness of the skin a common side effect when using Niacin supplements?

Answer: Individuals using a Niacin supplement in the form of nicotinic acid may experience redness of the skin or “flushing” which may last for several minutes. This is due to niacin’s vasodilating action. Other forms of niacin such as niacinamide or nicotinamide do not result in “flushing.” This non-flushing niacin is typically used in multivitamin and mineral and B complex supplements.

Is your multivitamin gummy vegetarian or vegan?

Answer: No it is not due to the gelatin used in the product.

What forms of Vitamin A are in your products?

Answer: The vitamin A in our Vitamin A and Cod Liver Oil softgels is in the form of retinyl palmitate. The vitamin A in our multivitamins and other products is in the form of retinyl acetate.

What if I'm still nursing but want to become pregnant again?

Answer: Consult your doctor about your supplement routine. You can continue taking the postnatal supplement since it provides all the key nutrients in our prenatal supplement, such as folic acid and iron, as well as higher amounts of some key nutrients such as vitamin D. However, if you do become pregnant, it is best to switch to our Nature Made® Prenatal softgel with DHA.

Which multivitamin should I take based on my age?

Answer: If you are over 50 years of age, it is recommended that you take a multivitamin that contains no iron, such as our Multi For Her 50+ or Multi For Him 50+, unless your healthcare professional has suggested otherwise. If you are a woman under 50, you should take a multivitamin with iron such as our Multi For Her.

Why are their other ingredients besides vitamins and minerals listed on the packaging?

Answer: The additional ingredients are used to make your multivitamin in tablet form and to make the vitamins and minerals available for absorption. The FDA, for vitamin and mineral manufacturing purposes, approves all ingredients used in our products.

Why does your multivitamin gummy not contain all of the vitamins or minerals found in a multivitamin tablet or softgel?

Answer: Because you chew gummy vitamins, some nutrients have a very unpleasant taste and cannot be put in a gummy. If the multivitamin gummy does not contain everything you desire, simply add a tablet or softgel of that vitamin to your daily routine.
